ABOUT WOMEN’S MOTO SUMMIT:
Founded by The Litas Managing Director, Kim Okabe, WMS is a community-driven event designed to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. Nestled beside the Cheakamus River in Squamish, BC, Cheekye Ranch is an open range horse rescue and rehab facility that encompasses over 60 acres of unique coastal forest and incredible mountain views. This “choose your own adventure” weekend is ideal for those seeking wellness, self-care, and pampering, or for those who want to challenge themselves through a series of self discovery activities and engaging conversations. WMS aims at providing a safe and supportive space, free from judgment, where you can explore your inner self and learn how to tap into your natural resilience.

Here’s what Kim had to say about last year’s experience at Women’s Moto Summit:
“We had two types of guests last year - those who jumped in with two feet and took every class imaginable, and then those who simply perched on a riverside hammock reading books and listening to nature. The latter would show up and sit in the back of a self massage class and then head to bed early but still got the same amount of fulfillment as the other. It goes to show that we need to listen to our bodies and respect wherever our heads are at. You don’t NEED to do anything at the Women's Summit. The goal is for guests to take this time for themselves and just be present.
Not going to lie, I spent most of Saturday in tears as I overlooked classes filled with guests sobbing on their yoga mats. Knowing that these incredible women have not taken any time to look inwards and check in with themselves but this was the weekend they did. Strangers cried together, people held space for each other and we thanked one another for creating a welcoming space that felt comfortable to do so.
The nights were spent listening to live acoustic music and then having a little dance party and shaking it out before bed.
It’s hard to explain how much this meant to me. For weeks leading up to this event, I truly thought my mom had punked me. I’d lay in bed stressed in tears asking her why she led me to this location and was trying to tell me through dreams to do this. It all made sense during the ice breaker on the first night and from there the reasons just kept piling on.
My hope for this year is that we all encourage that friend who doesn’t know they need this to come. That we as a collective show the women who perceive other women as a threat, that we can be each other's backbone. And that strangers can hold space for each other and that tears are a power move.”
