FAQs
+ Who will contact me when I sign up?
It takes three founders to start a branch of The Litas in a particular city. From there, the three founders run their local group and plan rides and meet ups. So, it's up to them to welcome members in their city when they join.
+ Where did the name The Litas come from?
We get that question a lot. The name came from a drunken bar night between two best friends who dreamed of starting an all female motorcycle group. They thought it sounded like a sweet name. So, no, it doesn't have any alternative meaning besides a badass moto-obsessed women who call themselves The Litas.
+ How do I join?
You can find your cities branch under "Branches" and submit your info through their web page. All women are welcome! The founders of that branch will receive your info via email, and will reach out to you welcoming you to the group. You don't have to do anything official.
+ Do I have to pay yearly dues?
You will NEVER have to pay dues. Riding motorcycles with friends shouldn't cost you anything. This was always of the utmost importance to founder, Jessica, when creating The Litas.
+ Are three wheelers or trikes allowed?
We leave that up to the individual branch founders, but so far, all founders HAVE allowed trikes in their branches. We know that a lot of women ride trikes for disability reasons as well as many other reasons. You may be asked to ride in the back of the group for others' safety.
+ What is the time commitment?
You are encouraged to be an active member, and go to all the events, but definitely not required. You get out of it what you put in.
+ Are there nomad Litas?
No, there aren't any nomad Litas. As of now the only options are to find the closest branch to you and join them for rides and events, or start your own branch.
+ Do The Litas allow scooters?
No, we are a women's motorcycle riding group and do not allow scooters.
+ Do The Litas wear patches?
Absolutely not. We are not a motorcycle club in any form, so we don't operate or appear as one either.
+ Do you allow Transgender Women?
Hells yes. If you consider yourself a women, come ride with us! Transgender bikers are always welcome in the Litas.
+ Do I have to have my motorcycle license to join?
You do not have to have your motorcycle license to join, however, you do need it to go on rides with The Litas.
