The Litas Bremerton are blessed with gorgeous scenic drives, and they love to get in long rides with good eats. The city of Bremerton is known for its lush parks and charming neighborhoods and is located across the Puget Sound from Seattle. A lovely harborside town with historic naval and maritime heritage, Bremerton and the surrounding areas afford these Pacific Northwest Litas a beautiful place to ride (when the weather cooperates.)

A little over a year old, this branch has grown quickly and serves womxn from all over Kitsap County. Read on to learn more about The Litas Bremerton.

The Litas of Bremerton, Washington

Who are your branch founders?

Hillary Burbank Carman, Mariah Gallegos, and Rachel (Ruby) Gilbert

How did you discover The Litas?

Hillary: I was looking for women to ride with back in 2017, so I googled "women motorcycle group" and discovered the Litas.

Rachel: Social Media! I had a friend who rode with the Los Angeles Litas years ago. I didn't know a whole lot about it, other than it looked cool to ride with a group of awesome ladies. Then years later, Hillary hit me up about starting a branch in Bremerton with her.

How long have you been riding together and what is one of your greatest successes as a collective thus far?

Rachel: We've been riding together for just over a year now. I'd say our greatest success was the accidental Gravel Road Merit Badge ride of 2022!

Mariah: I think our biggest success has been how much we've been able to grow in just a year. It's freakin’ awesome that we've been able to grow our community and give bad ass womxn a way to connect with one another.

I am so happy that we’ve been able to put ourselves on the map for womxn to join us and ride in Bremerton/Kitsap County.

What are some challenges you face living and riding in the PNW?

Rachel: Far too much rain, and the occasional snow and ice. Summer doesn't last nearly long enough!

Top recommendations for Litas coming to your neck of the woods to ride? Eat? Explore

Rachel: Don't sleep on the Hood Canal Loop– such a great ride! Also, take the highway out to the coast. It's a great all day trip.

Mariah: It's no joke when I say there is something for everyone here. One of our fave coffee shops is locally owned Cafe Corvo. The Garage Sports Bar holds a special place in our hearts, it was the site of our first meetup.

Hillary: The Dewatto/Tahuya loop from Bremerton - winding roads along the water on a warm summer day is fantastic. Also, riding through Olympic National Park and the Hoh Rain Forest is dreamy. I love eating at Noah's Ark for diner food, Axe & Arrow is bistro style, El Balcon is Salvadoran, and Saboteur for the best pastries of your life.

Tell us about a typical meet up or ride with The Litas Bremerton– where do you like to go/ do/ see?

Rachel: We like a good ride that gives us a chance to put some miles on to a destination where we can get some awesome food. A great ride is a perfect blend of curvy roads, awesome weather, wonderful scenery, and an amazing lunch with the ladies.

Mariah: Typical meetups include great food, tons of laughs, and great scenery on rides. I think one of our most popular meetups has been Naughty Bingo at one of the local sports bars, The Garage. There is no shortage of beautiful roads here. We get to ride alongside massive trees, water, and overall beauty.

Anything else you want to add?

Mariah: I am so happy that we've been able to put ourselves on the map for womxn to join us and ride in Bremerton/Kitsap County. Being a bit away from the bigger cities, it's easy to feel disconnected from others. We're also a military town, so I think it's also sweet that we're able to give the spouses/dependents who ride, a way to find a community for themselves!
