We are looking for womxn just like you to help grow The Litas and build your local motorcycle community.
THE LITAS MISSION
The Litas mission is to empower women through community and our shared love of motorcycles to live a life they love and that makes them feel free.
The Litas is not exclusive. We welcome womxn from all walks of life; no matter how old you are, where you come from, how long you’ve been riding, or what type of motorcycle you ride.
We aim to bring women together and give founders the tools they need to be successful in creating a positive, tight-knit community on a local level. We break down some of the barriers riders have when first starting out by giving them a community to call their own, so they don’t have to learn the hard way (we’ve all been there, right!?).
We are looking for founders that are comfortable being in a leadership role and can set the tone for the whole group - building each other up and supporting one another. Starting and running a branch of The Litas is hard work but we promise it will be 100% worth it if you’re ready. You will be joining the world-wide movement of awe-inspiring babes who show up for each other and are striving to live their best life. Raise hell, babes!
Breaking the Mold
We count on our founders to make sure that their branch is consistent with The Litas values on a world-wide level, which includes making sure The Litas never looks like a traditional “MC” or “RC”. We were created + designed to be very different from a traditional club and aren’t modeled after one in ANY way.
No politics, no commitments, no membership fees, no drama, just good times with good people!
What do I need to start a branch of The Litas?
How many founders do I need to start a branch of The Litas?
You will need three founders including yourself to start a branch of The Litas. We’ve found this to be the right number to divide the tasks and create an awesome community.
What are the expectations of the 3 founders?
We expect each founder to be as committed as the next. Support each other, show up for each other, have open and honest communication, and work towards the same goal. No founder is better than another, and all founders need to share the responsibilities. We do not play “mediator” so keep in mind, if you have internal problems with founders, we expect you to resolve conflict and find a solution on your own.
What is the time commitment?
At a minimum, you must plan at least one meet-up or ride a month, some of our branches plan much more! Usually branches will hold meet-ups in the months where it’s too cold to ride - wrench night, how to night, wine down Wednesday, taco Tuesday, etc.
You’ll be a leader within your community, so get involved, get excited, get after it! We encourage you to get creative and have fun planning events and getting to know Litas members. This is your opportunity to share your passion and love for motorcycles and create a space for women that is inspiring and fun as hell.
This IS a volunteer position and you will be busy so please really consider if you have the time to take this on and make it awesome. You must have a true passion for building your local motorcycle community!
What are the Social Media requirements?
We expect each branch to run a public Instagram account for their city and to direct members to find further details in the Collective app. This allows new members and the community to find you via IG, but also for members to privately connect within Collective.
Branch presence and utilization of the Collective by The Litas App is a non-negotiable for branch founders. Founders are expected to post all rides, meet ups and events within the app. Ride details should not be provided publicly on Instagram.
Resources for each platform are provided to founders, including templates and logos for use on social media to announce your events/rides.
What does my skill level need to be?
We want everyone to be safe on the road #1, so if you don’t feel comfortable enough to lead a group ride, and show other women the ropes, you may want to reconsider applying. There’s no set amount of miles or experience, although you must have your motorcycle license, and a riders course is a PLUS. Here’s some questions you can ask yourself to see if you’re ready; am I comfortable leading a ride of 10+ women? Am I comfortable on the freeway in heavy traffic? Am I comfortable on canyon roads? Am I comfortable leading the group in a pre-ride meeting before hitting the road? Am I comfortable enough to take a motorcycle trip? Can my motorcycle go short + long distances?
You don’t have to have 10 years of experience or know all the answers, but between the three founders, you should feel comfortable answering all of those questions even if you have to divide and conquer certain areas.
Let’s do this.
