When you get an entire group of diverse women that are living their full, authentic truth, it creates an unstoppable force. We got together with the Atlanta Litas and asked them a few questions to get a better idea of how they have been able to live their most authentic life. Time to meet the badass ladies from the Atlanta Litas.
Zahara Fallow: @zee883
Atlanta Litas Founder
Q: Why do you ride?
Zahara: I ride because it is damn fun! I have never felt anything more exhilarating and freeing than riding a motorcycle. I also ride to break the stereotype that women only ride behind their man. I love being a female rider and showing girls and women alike that women can do what they set their minds to.
Q: How did you get into riding?
Zahara: My husband decided he wanted to get back into riding after 20+ years and buy his dream bike. I was fine with it, but didn’t necessarily have an interest in riding or motorcycles for that matter. After seeing how much fun he was having, as well as riding behind him a couple of times I decided I wanted a bike if my own. I had never ridden a motorcycle and wanted to make sure I would even like riding, so I took the MSF course and immediately knew that riding was for me. I took to it naturally and loved it so much that once I passed the course, I went out and purchased my own.
Q: How long have you been riding and what do you ride?
Zahara: Going on 4 years! I have a blacked out 2016 Harley-Davidson Iron883 Sportster named Black Mamba.
Q: Do you have any personal philosophies you live your life by?
Zahara: Live life and do what you love. I have learned over the years that time goes by very quickly. If you wait until tomorrow to start doing what you want, time will pass you by. Don’t let fear stand in your way and have no regrets. Do not sacrifice your standards and beliefs just for attention and fame. That can go away, but you always have to live with yourself.
Q: What is it like to run a branch of The Litas?
Zarah: All I can say is, “Wow!” Being a part of, organizing, managing and being a role for a group of women riders is amazing. I have never felt more empowered and it is so fun getting to know more and more members as they join each month. It can be sometimes hectic with a large city like Atlanta because all of the ladies are spread out throughout the city and outside the perimeter. Getting a time, place and event together can sometimes be a challenge, but we make it happen! Our Atlanta group had some changing of the guards with a couple of our original founders having to step down for personal reasons. I am lucky enough to have two ladies who have taken on the responsibility of being my cofounders and who are strong badass women themselves. Together, we are making The Litas a household name amongst the Atlanta motorcycle community. The support and admiration from our community has been so great!
Q: What inspired you to be a founder?
Zahara: I was inspired to be a founder because Atlanta needed a women’s motorcycle group that was not exclusive, that any lady rider could join. The fact that The Litas is about inclusion, female empowerment and promoting unity means a lot to me. I admire Jessica and her passion to make this a worldwide collective and I am proud to call myself a Lita! Raise Hell Babes!
Brittney Crowell: @brittneycrowell
Atlanta Litas Rider
Q: Why do you ride?
Brittney: I can’t even begin to explain what riding means to me. It’s my freedom from the real world. It’s how I clear my head on a rough day even if it takes a full tank of gas. Also the friendships! The biker community is unbelievable. I have met the most incredible people through riding.
Q: How did you get into riding?
Brittney: So many people in my life had bikes! My mom was a biker babe, so growing up it was something I watched a lot. Both my best friends had bikes and I wanted to ride next to them.
Q: How long have you been riding and what do you ride?
Brittney: 8 years and counting! I ride a 2019 Harley-Davidson 883 Iron.
Q: Do you have any personal philosophies you live your life by?
Brittney: Collect as many moments as you can.
Jacqueline Schadeck: @_jacquelineplans
Atlanta Litas Rider
Q: Why do you ride?
Jacqueline: I ride for a few reasons. Firstly, I love the thrill and everything that come with riding- the sights, the smells, the sound of switching through the gears. 2. I love to go fast, so this is the easiest way for me to dip around Atlanta traffic. 3. There's a tremendous amount of freedom that comes with riding a bike and I enjoy the liberation.
Q: How did you get into riding?
Jacqueline: My grandfather was a Nascar mechanic and after he retired I spent a lot of my childhood growing up in his mechanic shop, so I have a nostalgic love for cars/bikes. Once I got a little bit older bikes just seemed to be calling my name.
Q: How long have you been riding and what do you ride?
Jaqueline: I'm heading into my second year as a bike owner! I love a good sport bike, I'm currently on a ninja.
Q: Do you have any personal philosophies you live your life by?
Jaqueline: Live simply and love generously. Life doesn't have to be complicated - trust your gut.
