Rider Feature: GEANE SANTANA

Meet Geane Santana, a Brazilian motorcyclist taking part of the BUILD TRAIN RACE program with Royal Enfield, an all-woman initiative teaching women how to build and race their own motorcycle. An IT professional and visual artist born and raised in the federal capital Brasília, Geane was introduced to Flat Track through the 2017 Rodeo Motorcycle event, but had previously never raced.

The BUILD TRAIN RACE program “highlights the culture of motorcycling and gives visibility to women in a unique format that unites riders with different backgrounds in motorcycling to compete in Flat Track races. The program has three phases – in the first one, the riders customize an Interceptor 650 for the Flat Track. Then, with the help of Flat Track experts, each driver must train on the dirt tracks.”

Geane recently shared some images with us of her gorgeous green custom Interceptor 650 on the track. Read on to learn a little more about her experience.

About the rider:

Geane: I started riding 9 years ago. I think the reason for liking motorcycles came from my childhood and was strengthened in my adolescence due to my love for rock'n'roll, where the motorcycle is very present.

About the build:

Geane: My inspiration for the look of my motorcycle was the Kultura Kustom universe with elements like Flake, pinstriping, engraving, lettering and I focused on making the most of the handcrafted work. We had two months in the program to build the motorcycle and prepare them for Flat track races. The whole construction process was really cool to do; I was able to take some of my work as an artist and make the bike look like who I am. The biggest challenge was the timing.

Do you have any advice for others who want to start building and riding their own motorcycles?

Believe in your potential and accelerate. Women can do whatever they want and ride any style, engine capacity and size of motorcycle.
