Featured Branch: THE LITAS HUMBOLDT
The Litas of Humboldt County, California live in a majestic wonderland featuring miles and miles of gorgeous Redwood-lined roads, cradled by sparkling sand dunes along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. If such a locale does not inspire you to ride, we don’t know what will! This diverse group of riders recently shared their branch story and photos from their shoot at Samoa Dunes.

Tell us about your photoshoot on the beach! Where did you go and what inspired you to do this shoot?
Our incredible photoshoot took place at Samoa Dunes Recreation Area, located in Humboldt County, CA (adjacent to the majestic Pacific Ocean!). We were inspired to coordinate the session after re-launching our monthly ladies’ bike night when the gals shared their personal stories of how they became immersed in the wonderful world of motorcycles. We were so captivated by the diversity of everyone’s moto journey. We thought:
"We should spotlight these women and highlight their stories on our social media in hopes to inspire others."
Most of the ladies did not have professional photos with their bikes, so Laura thought it would be extra special to hire a local photographer with a distinct portfolio and style to showcase our branch’s badassery. We all had a blast! In fact, every one of us left the dunes saying "we should do that more often.”
Share your branch’s history- how long have you been riding together and what is one of your greatest successes as a collective thus far?
The Litas Humboldt became an official branch in October of 2019 founded by Erin, Sarah, and Lindsay. Erin and Laura were both on the first official group ride together that Autumn. After Sarah relocated (and joined the Litas Washington D.C.), Lindsay and Erin asked Laura to be the third co-founder. Laura commented, “it took me a minute to fully embrace it, but once I did, I never looked back”. Brianna came to us in early 2021 and has been actively engaged with our branch ever since. Erin thought Brianna would be a perfect fit as a successor for Lindsay (and she was right!).
The greatest success is how close we have grown together and the bonds created, it is so gratifying! Everyone joined our branch with various levels of experience and skillsets.
It’s been amazing to observe the confidence boosts and smiles the beginners have on their faces after each successful group ride.
Whenever we get together there's so much love and respect within our wind sisterhood.
